Hanh! Hello! I know - it's been awhile. OK, a long while.
Have been: developing 2 new versions of our electronic pain / parasite killer commonly called "a zapper".
There's the Revitalizer, which looks just like the original Basic zapper on the outside, but has a neodymium magnet inside the case at each terminal, for the added power of magnetic healing.
Then there's The Annihilator, which is built on the original Basic Zapper but which as 4 terminals on 2 sets of 3-foot-long leads, with a neodymium magnet in each terminal, so you can put the power of this electromagnetic treatment method right where you want it, while the Little Black Box is somewhere else - more convenient - on your body.
Have also been: battling a collection of crooks who have been depriving people of their civil rights under color of law - a federal felony... Read More
Hanh! Been swamped with work and a miserable lot of 'helpers' no thanks to that stinking oil boom in ND.. It's incredibly tough to get work done when you tell people to show up at a given time & they show up 4 - 6 hous LATE... or not at all.. maybe a few DAYS LATE.. and we're all in this same boat up here this year. Friends in other businesses have told me it's the worst they've seen in 30 years. Sure has been for me!
So I & 2 wonderful young men & a female friend have been building a room inside the venerable building I've been reclaiming for several years.. at 0 degrees F & below.. which SHOULD have been done last August. Try it sometime! I love challenge, but this is the nuts.
Wishing you great good happy healthy success! :-)
Back in February, I & 2 associates decided we had to order more electronic sub-assemblies & assorted parts from our main supplier in China. Murphy got a ticket to ri-i-ide (sing the Beatles song) on this one... Instead of maybe a month or 6 weeks, it took 3.5 months to put it all together.
Our contact there is a delightful lady who works very hard for us & she & I have become friends - especially since she told me she was going home to wait the last month before delivering her baby which I had no clue about until that email.... but that she was going to keep after our order from home, right up until she went to hospital to deliver. Not many women here would do that... She did.
She had a girl. The weather in China suddenly got very hot right after the delivery, and if you listen to the radio, the atmosphere in China is very... Read More
And last but not least, today - ladies, sharpen your skinning knives. Because I'm single, female, Indn & I live alone in the country, some of the local racist rocket scientists have the idea that I would welcome 'visits' from them. "Visit" is a vernacular local term for "we're going to bed whether you want to or not". You read it right.. 'rape'.
Our current sheriff is a piece of useless trash who has fondled several women in his department, who are afraid to file formal papers "because our husbands will kill Sheriff Shipman & then we won't have our husbands". I told them their defence is "vermin control" & "justifiable homicide" - no jury here would convict any man for taking out this slime.. but so far, none of them has the brass to file. Pity. "But wait - there's more!"..
Because our sheriff is worthless... Read More
Hanh mitakuyapi. This post's subjects all come under the heading of, "I don't believe it!"
Was going thru a supermarket in Bismarck yesterday & signs on the fresh-meat case included, "Fresh-Ground Lamb - $13/lb" - and "Fresh Lamb Chops - $16 / lb." Now if only the producers got that kind of money. Duwahleh! / (!!QQ!!)
Then there's the supervisor of 1 of my brothers' tale: Randy went to see his daughter in Williston, ND, (center of the oil boom here) last weekend. Before he went up, he promised her they'd get some steaks & grill. She said, "Um, Dad.. meat's getting kind of high here.." but gave no details. When they went to the supermarket, "kind of high" translated to $28 / lb. He bought it because he 'promised' his daughter, but next time he says he'll buy steaks over here & take them along.
Now we get to when he... Read More
Hanh mitakuyapi. I am always suspicious of polls claims because (a) the field of the poll is never told (age, race, gender, urban - big or small, rural..); (b) they are used as if they were 'guaranteed' to be accurate in their results. Heck, even the way the questions are put can skew the results.
So when the anti-gun nuts were ranting about polls 'showing' that '90% of Americans want stronger gun restrictions', my red flags were flying in a strong wind. And last week, I got proof that the anti-gun crazies are lying about that 90%.
I save my 'sent' files. I was contacted by several groups claiming that BS 90% referred to above, and expecting I would sign their petitions automatically based on their supposed poll results. Instead, I emailed them all & said I will never sign any such petition and I absolutely have no patience with people... Read More
Representative Dosch, I fail to comprehend how anyone can be so phenomenally ignorant in this day & age - the age of "instant knowledge / enlightenment" - & make statements such as you did about Indns, 'the Tribes', casinos, & that "the tribes should step up & help their people" as reported in the Bismarck Tribune. Just what do you think the purpose of casinos is, Representative? Do you think? Have you ever thought about it? Inquired? Hm? I doubt it.
The purpose of casinos, Rep. Dosch, is jobs for Ndn People. But in order for casinos to make a BIG difference in the economic situations on our Reservations, they need a large wealthy population to support them. Until the Bakken Boondoggle hit North Dakota recently, there was no such population, as you know.
Regardless of all of that, you own a hotel so ... Read More
Hanh! Two days ago, I found the first woodtick of spring on me. It isn't really spring until someone finds one of the nasty little things.. We haven't heard the Thunders here yet, so in the Indn Way, it isn't really spring yet. But the woodticks have awakened, so the Thunders can't be too far behind.
As for why we call it Spring - I offer as explanation this haiku I wrote a month or so ago:
Tanktops and T's one / Day - Mukluks and parkas the next / Spring - the Dakotas!
Hanh! Most of the time, I love international business. Except for 2-3 countrys, anyway.. Spain & (now) Portugal. And behind them, on occasion, Greece.
I / We get to meet all kinds of interesting people & learn about their cultures. The whiteman's culture here in the US gives everyone fits, it seems - until you get to Spain & Portugal - & to a lesser extent, Greece. Our experiences tell us it is no wonder these 3 are having huge problems financially. Their economic systems aren't working - in part because their bureaucracys &/or Customs people don't work.
In the case of Customs of Spain & Portugal, they simply hold onto incoming shipments (more or less 6 weeks); stonewall their citizens with repeat requests for the same information repeatedly & so keep them from getting the shipments; then send the shipments back to us,... Read More
Hanh! Got an email from a lady in NC/SC area today relating a story that is black humor, to us here.
She went some distance from her home to pick up some dogs from a rescue shelter. She used the restroom there, & left her running zapper (with it's blinking LED....) in the restroom. A couple of hours later, when she realized she didn't have it, she called the pet shelter to tell them she would send postage so they could return her zapper.
They told her that in the meantime, someone had gone to use the restroom & saw the zapper light blinking, so called the police, 'thinking' it was an IED. (!QQ!)
The responding officer couldn't figure out what it might be, so he called.... the bomb squad. They collected it, looked inside, xrayed it, tested it various ways.... and figured out it is not any kind of 'bomb device'.
Our... Read More
