The ultimate fashion icon

Jane Birkin, 69, models a stylish tuxedo as she takes center stage in Saint Laurent's stunning new black and white ad campaign

Jane Birkin's may have inspired the creation of the highly-coveted Hermès Birkin bag, but the fashion icon is lending her image to Saint Laurent to tout one of their classic luxury items.

Saint Laurent creative director Hedi Slimane has tapped the 69-year-old English actress and singer to be the face of the brand's iconic Le Smoking tuxedo, which was first designed by Yves Saint Laurent in 1966.

Take A Trip Through 300 Years of Men's Fashion

It’s easy to think that men’s fashion is less exciting than women’s. “Most people’s idea of menswear is the standard business suit in a blue-black-brown palette,” says Sharon Takeda. But a new exhibition at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) begs to differ.

Takeda, head of the costume and textiles department, and curators Kaye Spilker and Clarissa Esguerra mostly plumbed the museum’s permanent collection of more than 35,000 objects for notable trends in the past three centuries of men’s fashion. They turned up court dresses for 18th century noblemen, an ultraconservative bathing suit from 1900, and a striped zoot suit, and selected 200 looks to feature in “Reigning Men: Fashion in Menswear, 1715–2015,” opening April 10.

Symphony Fashion Show Young & Fashionable Launch Party

The 2016 Symphony Fashion Show Young and Fashionable co-chairs, Ellen Green and Ann Ralls Niewold, officially launched the show's first Young and Fashionable Committee in style.

A spring-chic crowd gathered at Le Sel for a cocktail party hosted by Strategic Hospitality's Max and Benjamin Goldberg and Capital Wealth Partners' Brian and Hayden Cook. Guests enjoyed light hors d'oeuvres — ham and cheese puff pastries and smoked tomato and eggplant on crostini with fresh ricotta — paired with premium wines or The Bar at Le Sel's signature cocktail, Mercédés (vodka or gin with spiced pear, elderflower, lemon and grapefruit).
