Harrowing Hair and the Hairdresser

Well, it's a great day. I am a retired hairdresser. 17 years in the business.
A color specialist of all things!! So Yesterday, I thought; good day to do something different to my hair. HMMMMM. Well let me give you a quick lesson. 1-10. 1 is the darkest, 10 is the lightest, and you can figure the rest. It is a chart that goes up or down depending on which you start from. Ok, I picked a nice 6 brown. Just in the middle. Weeeeeeell, ahhh, NO they were wrong!! I have all the mirrors covered I'm afraid to look. I am like Elvis. He would have been a 1 or 2. So I finally looked in the mirror. I am right now LMAO....................no really I was, I had to go get it! And I have to be careful with it, it's broken, got a crack in it!!!
So Listen, why do you think God let's you go grey from the front firts? It is to soften the wrinkles in your face. Also so you don't look like an old hag and scare the children at holloween.  WORK WITH ME PEOPLE.  So we are now trying something to lighten it up a little. If it doesn't work, I will shave my head, and I will send pictures of that you can bet!!!
So let me tell you if you have a good hairdresser kiss her, and tip her big. You don't want to go through the harrowing happenings I did.  Keep your fingers crossed I'm going to shampoo.
Love to all

I got a light brown once thinking it would refresh my dirty blonde hair - way too dark! Oh, well - it lightened up after a week or so of daily shampooing. lol with you!

being a hairdresser I could never say this to a customer that did their own hair at home. Tide will lighten it up too. It will feel like crap-o-la, but it will be lighter

LOL... I used Summer Blonde back when I was in high school. Didn't like the dark roots & ppl might think I'm just another brunette trying to look blonde even though my eyelashes & eyebrows were blonde too. So, Mom took me to go find a color that was "close" to my original color of a blonde strawberry blonde. Well, while rinsed & still wet... it was red. No! I hated red hair. OK, did I put the emphasis on RED? It was run to your room, throw your 15 yr old self on the bed, face in pillow, balling your eyes out, can't go to school 'til next year... RED! Mom said, "wait 'til it dries; if it doesn't lighten, we'll go get a lighter shade. All I can say is: Mom knows best! :) I have never done that again.
