I am a work-at-home mom, with two businesses, a groovy husband and three kids ranging in ages from 1-10 years.

I played basketball and volleyball for more years than I care to admit, but thoroughly enjoyed that part of my life -- I remember so many people telling me while I was playing how I was learning so much on the teams I was playing for, and I never really understood what they meant like that till I hit my 30s. It's true what they say, youth is wasted on the young!! LOL! Ahhh, well. No regrets here, just loads of great experiences and even the bad ones helped shape who I am, and most days, I like me, so it can't be all bad.

Although the challenges working at home presents are sometimes ... well ... challenging, I have found that the opportunity to stay home with my small children is something that I would not trade for any other situation; the rewards far outweigh any negatives. I...  Read More

Another Day, Another Day

I'm convinced that when we agree to have children, we agree to take a piece of our brain and give it away. Not sure if they (our kids) get it, or someone else, but one thing is for sure, I don't have it anymore.

It would make sense that the kids get it ... they are exhibiting traits of enough of my bad habits to make it seem like sometimes they are carrying around a piece of my brain ... maybe it's one of those things like bee larvae - they eat the stuff around them to grow into a bee. Or something. Maybe as the kids grow their bad habits they gleaned from the brain pieces they took will disappear as their own minds grow and take over.

My eldest is 11. I'm tentatively optimistic at his chances. The jury is still out on the young ones.

Embracing My Domestic Mediocrity

This has been one heck of a week. Turned 39 on Monday, car won't start on Tuesday. Blow-out on I-75 on the other car on Wednesday. Forgot to make cupcakes for my kiddo's 11th bithday to take to school. Pulled a muscle on the side of I-75 when I had to lay on the ground in a mini-skirt to look under the minivan to see if there was a spare tire there (which, of course, there was not).

Whilst I attempted not to flash the world, I wasn't as careful as I should have been when getting up and I pulled a muscle in my left quad. PULLED A MUSCLE from STANDING UP?!! Are you kidding me with this?! I wish I had pulled it doing something cool like rock climbing or back-packing across Europe, or even walking around the block with my little one. But no. *sigh*  Getting old is fun.

Working From Home: REAL Works For Me

Just what I need ... another place to express myself. Against my better judgement, I'm adding another blog to my social media repertoire, and ta-dah! Here it is (fabulous, no?). Besides, I think the time I have to sleep is far too extensive, so I need to start cutting back a bit in that regard. ;)

Much to the chagrin of my husband, I have been actively involved with social media and sharing my ideas about things through venues like Facebook, Twitter, discussion boards and more recently, my "Mom Blog," My personal information has always been available online which, in today's day and age and the craziness in the world, may not be the wisest plan, but it really just fits in nicely with my personality and my approach to life in general.
