When Cate Blanchett stepped out in Melbourne last week Prom Dresses a dress made out of brightly coloured crocheted squares, fashionistas around the world got their knickers in a knot. The Oscar-winning actress and style icon, who chose the dress personally, was referred to as "Cate Blanket", and the look dubbed granny chic or nanna glamour. But Prom Dresses on Sale behind Aussie fashion label Romance Was Born, who created the offending dress, are not bothered by the fuss. Nor are they surprised.
"People are just so boring and safe and whatever, who cares," says Long Prom Dresses Plunkett, one half of the creative duo. "At the end of the day, she's Cate Blanchett and she looked amazing. "We don't really care what people think about us." Needless to say, Romance Was Born divides people. Their runway show at Australian Fashion Discount Blue Prom Dresses in April featured octopus bonnets, dresses inspired by Iced Vo-Vo biscuits, mermaids and seaweed, and models wearing knitted beards and lace eyebrows.
The show was widely considered the highlight of the week-long festival, Discount Green Prom Dresses the too-cool crowd to tears, laughter and cheers. But others questioned how much of it could possibly be worn outside of the runway show. "Some people just don't really get it because it's not their thing or whatever," says Plunkett's partner in crime Luke Sales. "It's like with everything though. I don't really get football. You know what I mean?" Plunkett and Sales met Discount Pink Prom Dresses studying fashion at East Sydney Technical College, and identified in each other a kindred creative spirit.
