As I am sure you are all well aware, it’s is very important to accurately describe the items you are selling in as much detail as possible. They are just as equally important as your photos, but what does that all really mean?

Do I just Google my items and then copy all the descriptions that are out there and then make sure they are all in my descriptions on Addoway? No! This is actually not good at all. We found this really cool infographic from BuySight to show the percentages of what people buy in-store compared to online and wanted to share it with you on our eCommerce blog. As you can see, the online dominance is made up of primarily books and magazines, clothing, and electronics, but shoppers are buying everything online nowadays. (this data was collected by BuySight and not by Addoway)

We had the distinct pleasure of sitting down with Paula Mucha of Royal Presence/AnnappleBonanza on Addoway this last week to hear about her experiences selling online. We love her history, what she sells and what she is motivated by and we hope you do too. As a seller on Addoway and any other platform you choose to sell your products and/or services on, it’s important to have great communication. As we all know, “Communication is key,” but just not any communication. You need to have great communication. 

Buyers often have some questions before, during, and after the sale is complete. By providing detailed information in your listings, communicating shipping information right away and/or answering any questions buyers send you directly ASAP, you can help buyers get the answers they need quickly. And when they are happy they will often return and bring friends with them.

Here are some helpful hints to ensure you are communicating effectively:

In our previous blog, 3 Really Easy Tips to Ensure You are Maximizing your Product Listings, we mentioned that you should take optimal photos of your listings and try to take lots of them. Let your pictures entice and grab your audience. Don’t just add 1 or 2 photos. You have the opportunity to add more, so you should take advantage of it. 

Tip: Go back through all of your listings and make sure each item has at least 3-5 different images. Go over your images and ask yourself, “What does this picture say about my listing?” Having too many pictures is not a problem. You can have up to 6 photos on each of your Addoway listings.

AddoBlog Day is where all sellers interested in writing, come together to write about anything at all that interests them, from passions in life to what they love most; why they sell what they sell; how they got into the business; and even tips and tricks.
