Take a look around and I am sure you will agree that a lot has changed in the online world for merchants. Competition has increased all around us making it harder to make a respectible profit. Selling platforms have increased giving you more options to choose from, but also giving you even more obstacles at the same time. Should I try this one or that one or both? Should I sell the same items on each platform or separate? Believe me, we understand, but we are here to help.
The means to which we can reach our clients and they can reach us has increased as well. It’s important to always be moving forward, always looking for what you aren’t doing and/or improving your existing methods. But we know it can get daunting at times and this is why we wanted to post some easy to remember tips as you continue into the... Read More
As I am sure you are all well aware, it’s is very important to accurately describe the items you are selling in as much detail as possible. They are just as equally important as your photos, but what does that all really mean?
Do I just Google my items and then copy all the descriptions that are out there and then make sure they are all in my descriptions on Addoway? No! This is actually not good at all. This will do you more harm than good. I know it can be time consuming just thinking about what you want to say, but we are here to help. Note: You don’t just get writers block during AddoBlog Day.
Try to think about your products being in your hands and in your potential buyer’s hands for a minute. Paint a picture in words on what the experience is like, so when buyers are reading your descriptions they can paint that... Read More
We found this really cool infographic from BuySight to show the percentages of what people buy in-store compared to online and wanted to share it with you on our eCommerce blog. As you can see, the online dominance is made up of primarily books and magazines, clothing, and electronics, but shoppers are buying everything online nowadays. (this data was collected by BuySight and not by Addoway)
Share your thoughts with us in the comment section below and if you know of any other cool infographics out there, you can also include links for us to review. Thank you.
We had the distinct pleasure of sitting down with Paula Mucha of Royal Presence/AnnappleBonanza on Addoway this last week to hear about her experiences selling online. We love her history, what she sells and what she is motivated by and we hope you do too. Also, if you didn't have the opportunity to hear about her selling experiences on and off of Addoway, you can listen to a recorded interview she had with eCom Connections team here. There is also an Addoway discussion Fredrick Nijm had with them yesterday.
So without further ado let us introduce you to Paula Mucha:
Q: How long have you been selling online?
I've been selling online for 9 years.
Q: What is the link to your Addoway store?
Q: What prompted you to start?
It was all circumstantial. I had a lack of income at the time.
Q: What inspires you?Read More
As part of Addoway's ongoing partnership with SaleHoo their blog writer, Alice Delore, has agreed to share some of her experiences sourcing wholesale products and selling online.
Liquidation suppliers can offer you and your business a fantastic opportunity to buy very cheaply priced items that you can resell for crazy profits! They’re also one of the best sources of designer and branded items that buyers fall over themselves for. However, using a liquidator to source your inventory is a little different from using other types of suppliers, so, in order to make sure you know what liquidators are all about, and what they can offer you, I’ve put together this quick-guide for you.
What is a liquidation supplier?
Liquidation suppliers purchase stock from retail stores, manufacturers or businesses that are... Read More
As a seller on Addoway and any other platform you choose to sell your products and/or services on, it’s important to have great communication. As we all know, “Communication is key,” but just not any communication. You need to have great communication.
Buyers often have some questions before, during, and after the sale is complete. By providing detailed information in your listings, communicating shipping information right away and/or answering any questions buyers send you directly ASAP, you can help buyers get the answers they need quickly. And when they are happy they will often return and bring friends with them.
Here are some helpful hints to ensure you are communicating effectively:
Respond promptly to buyer inquiries
Contact a buyer to complete an order when appropriate.

In our previous blog, 3 Really Easy Tips to Ensure You are Maximizing your Product Listings, we mentioned that you should take optimal photos of your listings and try to take lots of them. Let your pictures entice and grab your audience. Don’t just add 1 or 2 photos. You have the opportunity to add more, so you should take advantage of it.
Tip: Go back through all of your listings and make sure each item has at least 3-5 different images. Go over your images and ask yourself, “What does this picture say about my listing?” Having too many pictures is not a problem. You can have up to 6 photos on each of your Addoway listings.
Here are some other quick tips to go over to ensure you are putting your best photo(s) forward:

As an experiment, the team at Addoway decided to launch an AddoBlog Day this past Wednesday. AddoBlog Day is where all sellers interested in writing, come together to write about anything at all that interests them, from passions in life to what they love most; why they sell what they sell; how they got into the business; and even tips and tricks. "You can write about anything you choose!" For more information, check out our press release.
What was so amazing was that dozens of merchants wanted to jump in and try their chances at adding a blog to their stores. Some sellers were already doing it way before we launched AddoBlog Day, but others seemed curious to the reason we provided the means to blog on your Addoway profile and what it could actually do for their business. Well I am confident those who participated see... Read More
Content is king. We have heard it time and time again. I am sure you already heard it somewhere else today before reading this blog. The more content you have the better you will be indexed on Google and be found by shoppers. The more quality information you provide the better off you will be, so it's important to spend the time ensuring that when a buyer hits your listings and your profile page all their questions are answered.
Do I have enough photos on my listings?
Do my titles, "Say it all?"
Did I put enough of a unique product description in the beginning of my description text to entice the shopper to continue reading?
Did I write too much? Too little?
