With the emergence of the “social” concept in business there should be no denying the fact that there are enough social networks, blogs, forums etc. to shake a stick at nowadays. The times have shifted and everyone is online and if they aren’t yet, they soon will be. More and more tools are available to meet and greet; provide customer service; and even sell to your clients, but sometimes we can find ourselves selling more than doing anything else. Why? Value in social media is identical to value in relationships – it’s essential to make it lasting. Building lasting relationships is not just important in eCommerce – it’s vital. With price being such a hot topic with purchases, sellers have to fight to maintain any sort of margin they can and the only way to do this is by showing the value in what they do. Informative stories, your own perspective and education are valuable content that needs to be included in your daily message.
Tip: Try to post one passion post for every 3-5 products posts and see what happens. You will get more followers, more mentions (retweets), more likes, and more comments. There is no reason you couldn’t replicate this process over time to benefit your brand. Testing, adapting to change, retesting, and executing on what works is what’s going to get you more sales.
