Mirror, Mirror on the Wall

What would we do without a mirror as we step outside to venture into the world each day?

I listened to a speech years ago at the University of Notre Dame for First Year Orientation. I still remember the emotions and tears from listening to the touching oratory.    The speaker was Keri Oxley and her speech is located here. It is very long, but worth it for anyone to take the few moments to read.
...here's an excerpt.  But to truly understand one really needs to read in entirety to grasp the context.    I was really moved hearing her speak with such genuine emotion and compassion.

Hooray for addoway

Hooray for addoway!  Or, I'd like to thank the Academy . . .

So much has happened in the last year on addoway, my first year!

I was intending to make a video of just Irish things that I had in my storefront on addoway.  But, many people were asking me to make a video for them and then some wanted to be included on the addoway joint videos I did.

What ensued was a comglomeration of pictures I had and some from others. I had a saved file of my own Irish stuff, so that's in there.  You can always skip over that part if you aren't into Irish things. :-)  Somehow it morphed into an Academy Award thing.  Hey that's what happens with little time and much creativity:-)

I do want to thank everyone who is kindly twittering...  Read More

In our worldly every day life we instinctually prepare for Spring and renewal.
Perhaps we want to be more giving, maybe shed some extra pounds or do some spring cleaning, get the house ready, and prepare seeds for sowing in the garden.  We want...  Read More

Novel ideas for leftover fabric scraps

Every now and then I like to do some crafts.  The other day, I got into making button covers.
Since, the workplace is now going with badges, I decided to make mine a little more personal.
I put some ideas up on pinterest

For myself, I started with the Red Sox one. These are actually fabric covered buttons.

Then, made a lanyard one with a green flower.

Didn't really make one for addoway, but it would be cool.
(Fred, I want 1st dibs if you let us start selling promotional items)
Then, some novelty ones like John Deere, Hello Kitty, Pink Flamingo.

And of course Boston Sports Teams.
