Louis Marx and Company was an American toy manufacturer in business from 1919 to 1978. Its products were often imprinted with the slogan, "One of the many Marx toys, have you all of them?" Marx made numerous toys over the 59 years it was in business. Although probably most well known for its HO and O scale trains, they made everything from Yo-Yo's in the 1920's to Rockem Sock'em Robots in the 1960's and the Big Wheel tricycles in the 1970's. They also made a variety of tinplate toys such as windup and mechanical toys, dollhouses, cap guns, cars and trucks, toy soldiers and action figures, just to name a few. They were sold everywhere, including a variety of stores with the less-expensive toys extremely common in five and dime stores, and its larger, more detailed and costlier toys at larger retailers such as Sears and Montgomery Wards. Founded in 1919 with the basic aim to "give the customer more toy for less money," and "quality is not negotiable", Marx toys went from its humble beginnings in the 1920's to quickly became the biggest toy maufacturer in the world by the 1950's...
