Of Love & Nature - Pablo Neruda

“Our love was born
outside the walls,
in the wind,
in the night,
in the earth,
and that's why the clay and the flower,
the mud and the roots
know your name.”
Pablo Neruda

Wow! Black Bear Saved in Florida!

A 400 lb. black bear wandered into a residential neighborhood in Florida.
Black bears half this size have attacked and killed humans across the nation recently ... twice in Florida.

Wildlife Officers sedated the bear to safely relocate him                                                                                                                         ....
and that's when things began to go horribly wrong.

The tranquilizer dart sent the bear into a panic and he ran towards
the saltwater Inland Waterway, evading officers.

As he swam further and further out, he became drowsy and started to drown.

The Sparkling Allure of Geodes

Perhaps there is no more beautiful stone to find and own than an exquisite Geode! I have them from an array of places thanks to Geology Field Trips in college. Did not realize that Addoway had some stunning ones on its site, too!

This one from Cindy Kueczynski would be a great addition to someone's collection! See what she says about the stone, too.

Scientists Crack a Mystery Surrounding Endangered Sea Turtles

Takepart.com

Hours after being hatched, baby sea turtles make their way to the ocean, and that’s the last people see of them until they return years later.

Scientists have long puzzled over where endangered turtles disappear to during these “lost years.” Now they finally have an answer: The young turtles swim hundreds of miles from their birthplace, far from the coastal waters biologists expected them to roam, according to a new study published in the journal Current Biology.

Marine biologists from the University of Central Florida and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said the discovery would help scientists predict what kind of risks sea turtles encounter during their travels as well as how to better protect them. ...more
