Here's what you need to know about the birth of royal baby no. 2:
The Duchess of Cambridge has given birth to a girl.
The baby was "safely delivered" 8:34 a.m. at St. Mary's Hospital in London.
The princess, who is fourth in line to the throne, weighs 8 lbs. 3 oz.
“Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well," the palace said.
The Duke of Cambridge, who was present for the birth, left the hospital briefly, returning with his son, Prince George.
The Duke and Duchess emerged from the hospital at 6:30 p.m. with Catherine holding the newborn princess.
The royal couple left the hospital shortly thereafter, departing in a motorcade for Kensington Palace.
