  • The Duchess of Cambridge has given birth to a girl.
  • The baby was "safely delivered" 8:34 a.m. at St. Mary's Hospital in London.
  • The princess, who is fourth in line to the throne, weighs 8 lbs. 3 oz.
  • “Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well," the palace said.
  • The Duke of Cambridge, who was present for the birth, left the hospital briefly, returning with his son, Prince George.
  • The Duke and Duchess emerged from the hospital at 6:30 p.m. with Catherine holding the newborn princess.
  • The royal couple left the hospital shortly thereafter, departing in a motorcade for Kensington Palace.
