Fitbit Alta - A Customizable Fitness Tracker Designed to Fit Your Personal Style

The newest face of Fitbit is called Alta, and this $130 fitness tracker was designed to reinvigorate the brand’s aging product line. Fitbit Alta comes packed with all the standard abilities you expect from the manufacturer—from activity and sleep tracking to ‘move’ reminders—except for heart rate monitoring.

Fitbit Alta is also customizable; simply swap bands to make your own personal style statement. Fitbit sells a wide variety of band styles, and the Alt itself is available quite a range of textures and colors. Additional bands are priced at $30 to $100. Iwearthetech.com is the best platform to review Fitbit Alta and its highlighting features.

Fitbit Alta is one of the company’s newest mainstream product launch, its last one being the Charge HR in January 2015. Interestingly, Fitbit Alta came just weeks after the brand announced its Blaze smart fitness watch, which is priced at around $200. Critics agree that the Blaze is a superior fitness tracker complete with customizable bands and watch faces, but its launch was ill timed.

The fitness tracker market is crowded with smartwatches and advanced wearable fitness trackers with latest features in the same price range. The stock price of Fitbit dropped rather quickly following its Blaze announcement and had another tumble last week of 33% due to stagnant sales numbers compared to 4th quarter last year. It is important to note that Q4 2015 saw Fitbit have a 92% increase in sales over 2014, so Fitbit is still experiencing a high level of sales but no growth. Industry experts say that Fitbit is counting on this new Alta fitness tracker to keep the company ahead of the competition in the fitness tracker niche.

The main selling point of Fitbit Alta is its customizable design, which allows wearers to make a fashion statement while staying motivated. It’s easy to customize your own Fitbit Alta tracker by simply switching to different leather, metal, or classic bands depending on your mood or requirements. In true Fitbit style, the selection is quite stylish. There are four ‘classic’ colors as well as a ‘Special Editions’ collection that feature fitness trackers plated in 22k gold.

Fitbit Alta offers all-day activity tracking. Keep count of your steps, distance traveled, active minutes, calories burned, stationary time, and hourly activity. Fitbit Alta is also designed to help you remain active throughout your day by reminding you to move.  Fitbit’s SmartTrack technology automatically recognizes as well as records exercises so you can easily keep track without having to push a button.

The slim OLED tap display gives you instant access to vitals like your stats, smartphone notifications, and the time (of course). Fitbit Alta even offers call, text, and calendar alerts. Perhaps more importantly, it boasts a long battery life—you can wear it for up to 5 days without having to charge.
