Desiderata and Other Meaningful Things
The Desiderata poem is one of my favorites. It is surrounded by small pictures of friends and family. This wall has not changed much in over 15 years, but with time many things have changed...nothing is forever. My oldest grandson has given me two great grandson's. My youngest grand daughter is starting college, and I have a new son in law. I am proud of my family and friends. I feel fortunate in having four "best friends" in my lifetime. These gals have been in my life for over 30 years and rode the hills and valleys with me and I with them. One of my best friends is no longer here on the planet, one has Alzheimer's disease, and two are doing just fine. Treasured memories......captured and suspended in time.

The Serenity Prayer, Celebrate, and to Never, Never, Never Give Up sayings are reminders for me when I start to get out of kilter. I clung to the framed drawing done by my youngest daughter Darla in 1973 as I lay in the hospital with a health challenge... "Happiness is....Having a Mom Around When You Need Her"....that gave me the will to live and strength to carry on, and, a deeper meaning to life as my health was restored. My two daughters are 10 years apart. I framed many pictures of them growing up together along with a message written by Carla to her sister in 1968. Both girls are fun and sweet. These two girls have given me joy and 5 grand children and 2 great grand children. Life is not always easy and in fact it can be very un easy at times. Growing older gives us/me greater levels of insight. I need reminders all over the place to keep me on track...to live consciously with good intention and point myself in the right direction. The road is endless...I am not finished yet.....I can hardly wait to tell you about my BIG Christmas project I have been working on....that will be my next blog. P.S...I give up on trying to figure out how to be a graphic layout artist...I have wasted so much time trying to get this laid out the way I want it....those brain cells do not seem to be developed yet...but I really tried.

Thank you so much for sharing. I have a wall of motivation, now covered by the wall covering as it became my sons bedroom, I should dig for a photo I took of it before we covered it. It, like your display, was/is an important part of my life. Hugs to you and you did so well on this, amazing, wonderful, beauty.
