Recently I was asked for the mission or vision statement for my business. I had to think about it for a minute. Had I really ever articulated it? I decided that I had not, not really. So I took some time to consider just what it is I am trying to accomplish with Oshun Spirit, and how it is I have done it so far, and how I intend to keep doing it.
I wrote down three lines: I believe in what I sell. I perform every service with love. I work because I love what I do. And I felt complete.
But wait, wasn't there supposed to be a financial goal in there someplace... an ecommerce/financial component. You know, the part where I decide how I'm going to make a profit...

 While traditionally worn as clothing, mud cloth is now crafted into many different types of items including trendy hats, scarves, handbags, passport bags and shoulder bags, available in our Addoway store and on our website.
Traditionally men weave the white cotton and women create the intricate designs, although the roles have become interchangeable today. It starts out as hand spun cotton, made on site. Then an elaborate process of dying with the mud and bark takes place.
The dying, pattern cutting and sewing of these bags is done by the women. In the photo (left) we see an artisan adding "bleach" to an area that does will remain white. This substance has only a tiny bit of what we know as bleach in it, and is mostly made from a plant-based substance.
