Engagement Rings - Did you know???

Giving a Diamond as n Engagement Ring is somewhat of an American custom. All around the world, for centuries, Engagement Rings are usually  a precious Gemstone Ring!!

Who can ever forget Princess Diana's spectacular perfect Ceylon Blue Sapphire and Diamond Ring? and now, of course, that same ring was given to Princess Katherine (Kate Middleton) just last year when she became engaged to Prince William!!

Most European countries do NOT traditionally use the Diamond as an Engagement Ring - that is a custom that Americans  have made their own - Europeans favor Sapphire, Ruby, Emerald, and other Precious Gemstones as their main choice when proposing Marriage. 

Tanzanite and Russian Diopside are also popular choices.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words.....so learn how to make a great picture for your listing!

I made a light-box myself - and I used a large, white styrofoam cooler - from Kansas City steaks!  The styrofoam is perfect for getting that bright, white background to showcase your items!

I purchased a "natural light" lamp from Costco for $9.99 - and all I do is shine that lamp into the styrofoam box and snap away!

My camera is a Coolpix from Nikon - less than $50.00 at QVC and well worth it!

 

Jewelry is especially hard to photograph - it takes practice....but the more attractive your picture is, the better chance you have at sucessfully selling your items!
