Our mission is to guide you through the most trustworthy shopping experience imaginable by allowing you to make more confident buying decisions.
Through our integration with Facebook's Social Graph, we recommend merchants your friends have purchased from in the past and merchants that your friends know personally. And by aggregating a seller's reputation, credibility and influence scores, we offer an inside look into the seller before you buy. Making this information readily available, we are able to reduce the anxieties associated with marketplace shopping and offer a more pleasant shopping experience.
"Addo" in Latin actually means: to give, to inspire and to change. "Addoway" is the way to do just that.
Anthony and Fredrick wanted to create something very different then what was out there at the time and bring a trust element into the buying cycle for independent merchants that were lacking the brand recongnition of larger retailers as seen on some of the larger marketplaces. They actually started discussing the creation of a new marketplace over 5 years ago.
Anthony and Fredrick are the Co-founders of Addoway. They definitely want to save the world one day, but for now they will make their impact by using energy efficient light bulbs and recycling until they have some time to tap into more revolutionary means.
Addoway is located in the beautiful desert. Actually I mean in the city of Scottsdale, Arizona. Yes, it is very hot here, but we do get rain sometimes. We have had plans of relocating to San Francisco, but for now we are staying put here in AZ.
I think the question is better stated as, "Why shouldn't I try Addoway?"

It's very easy to use, we have no listing fees, and we believe we have one of the closest communities out there that continues to grow every single day. We are also confident that are shoppers are able to make more confident buying decisions from sellers on Addoway through the tools we provide our sellers. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Selling

We offer a simple one page listing process to make it as easy as can be!
There is no end date. Your listings stay active until it is sold or until you deactivate it.

Right now you can select either Paypal and/or Google Wallet.

To use PayPal, you just need to enter your PayPal email address into the PayPal section inside Merchant Account. If you don't already have a PayPal account, you need to first sign up for a PayPal account. Once you have done this, you save your PayPal email address to your Addoway account by going to Setup PayPal in your profile. To use Google Wallet, you just need to enter your Merchant ID and Merchant Key. Please note that the Callback URL is no longer required. If you don't have a Google Merchant ID and a Google Merchant Key, you can obtain them when you sign up for a Google Wallet account. Once you have this, you save this info to your Addoway account by going to Setup Google Checkout in your profile.
Go to My ads and just find your listing and then click delete.
It's quite simple. When you are logged in just click "Post an Ad" or click "Sell" in the top navigation bar, then enter the listing information and hit preview, then submit. Or you can use one of Addoway's many importers located in the Tools section of My Addoway to import listings from eBay and Etsy to Bonanza and Yardsellr. That's all you have to do!
As part of our commitment to the continued growth of Addoway, we initiated a fee structure that began on June 15th, 2011. We do not have any listing fees. Final Sale fees will be applied on the final price of the item or shipping cost whichever is greater. Only existing basic members will not begin accruing fees until September 15th, 2011. If you joined after June 15th, you will be charged final sale fees unless you go Pro. In the seller dashboard under My Ads. Active indicates the number of listings that are currently for sale; deactivated indicates are listings that were manually deactivated by you or by the importers and ended means the listings were either sold or expired, but listings do not expire on Addoway unless you turn the auto renew off. After 30 days they auto renew for you automatically.
You can add optional category specific details, descriptions, up to 6 photos and even a video if you have one available.
Follow the same instructions as if you wanted to delete the listing, but just click deactivate on your listing. Delete works too.

If you want to accept offers, then choose either or both of these options, so shoppers can then Make a Deal to engage with you.
You can change the size of your pictures using certain editing tools like Picasa http://www.picasa.com which is free from Google.
Yes you can. If you click on For sale under My Ads in My Addoway you will see the bulk edit tool over your listings.
Yes you can. You can use Addo Bucks to offer discounts on your items as well as discounts for shoppers who Like your item or your Fan Page. You also have the option to offer custom Coupon Codes if you are a Pro Member.

You can offer any of these discount options depending on what you prefer. Even if you offer all of them, the buyer will only receive the highest of the discount options that they qualify for. They cannot combine discounts. For example: You offer a 25% "Like My Fan Page" discount, and also offer a 20% Coupon Code, then if the buyer Likes your Fan Page and also enters the 20% coupon code, they will receive the highest of the two options, which in this case is 25%.
It's all about transparency. To be trusted, shoppers need to feel like they know you more than just a username. Try filling out your profile completely, linking your social networks to your profile as well as filling out who you are. Try blogging, and even adding a video. Addoway hosts an AddoBlog Day every Wednesday, where sellers post their blogs about anything they are passionate about and share it with the Facebook and Twitter community. We also have a Meet & Greet Sellers Group on Facebook you can join, where you can share your blogs, tips and tricks to selling more and meet other sellers just like you.

It's all about making your profile as transparent as possible, so shoppers have no reservations about buying from you. If you are selling on other platforms, become an Addoway Pro Member and link your other selling sites to your Addoway store.

You will be able to either accept it, cancel it, or counter it.
All of your listings are located in My Ads under My Addoway. Once you receive an order, all details can be found under Orders. You can then archive the order or delete it once you complete the transaction for the buyer. If you have any trade offers, you can find that information under Negotiations.
Pro members get Google Analytics and monthly reports showing them their most popular items, blog, and much more. They also get:
Larger ads on their profile
To choose which ads to show on profile
To let buyers search your store exclusively
To list multiple quantities in a single listing
To create custom coupon codes for your buyers
To promote their other online stores like eBay, Etsy, Amazon and Bonanza.

Not at all, but we do encourage it so you can see what your friends are buying and selling; the ability to receive testimonials from your friends; and to increase trust and experience the benefits of people sharing with Addo Bucks.
The algorithm we use for displaying photos takes into account the dimensions of the image and adjusts the positioning based on which is greater, height vs width. Since our members are uploading images that vary considerably in size, we try to find a happy median where most images will be displayed properly. For best results, it is recommended that images be of 4:3 ratio, meaning 4 width to 3 height. For example, an image with width of 400px would best if it's height was 300px. In this case, nothing would get cut off.
We give you the option to specify shipping price by location, and to apply "Semi-Calculated" shipping to any shipping carrier/method. For more information on how to use the calculator please see our post here: Addoway's Shipping Calculator
Buying

Addoway promotes transparent profile pages, so if you don't have any mutual friends connecting you to the seller, then take a look at their profile and see if they have displayed their other sites they sell on or if they have linked their social network profiles too. Sellers have the option to link their Klout scores, write blogs, and import their seller feedback from all other marketplaces they have been a member of before.

Just remember that if you don't feel comfortable enough, then don't buy. And please stay tuned for more, because soon Addoway will be making it even easier to tell if you can trust the seller before you buy.

If your item hasn't arrived or isn't as described in the listing, please try to first contact the seller directly and within a timely fashion. If you don't receive a response within 48 hours after contacting them, please Contact our support team to report the seller right away, so Addoway can open up an investigation and try to contact the seller ourselves on your behalf.

If neither of these options worked and you made the purchase through PayPal, you can file a dispute directly with them within the first 45 days of your order. You will find all the necessary information you need by going here: https://www.paypal-apac.com/buyerprotection/security-centre.html. Just follow the simple instructions and PayPal will research and begin working on getting you your refund.

If your purchase was made over 45 days ago or you didn't use PayPal you can still contact your credit card company or the bank that was used in the transaction to find out if you are eligible and covered. If you used a money order or personal check, then your only option is to contact your bank for the check and continue contacting the seller if it was a money order. Another handy tool is to contact the BBB (Better Business Bureau) and try to look up their store and file a formal complaint there.

Congratulations. All you need to do is Click Buy Now, choose your payment method, enter your zip code and then proceed to your purchase.
That is correct. We chose to not have auctions on Addoway and instead create an option where buyers can Make a Deal with sellers, so shoppers can still negotiate for a better deal if applicable.
Every listing has a Meet the Seller section in it. Just click Contact seller.
It is up to you if you want to accommodate that request, but we encourage you to utilize the Addoway platform to facilitate in the transaction.
There is no timeline restriction, but if you don't get a response within 48 hours try contacting them again. You can always reject the offer if you don't get a response and relist it for sale.
Just reach out to the seller and let them know that you have decided otherwise. They will be able to reject the offer for you.
Not at all, but we do encourage it. If you sign up through Facebook you can see if your friends have bought from anyone on Addoway are are selling on the platform right now, you can leave testimonials for friends, receive discounts for liking sellers Facebook Fan Pages, instill more trust in your store for incoming shoppers and much much more.
Nope. Addoway is an online marketplace that provides a platform for various sellers to sell their products and/or services. Sometimes members of the Addoway team will decide to sell a product or two from time to time, but in general when you are purchasing something you are buying from an individual seller or business that decided to sell on Addoway.
My Addoway

My Addoway is your starting point on Addoway. This is where you can do everything on Addoway. Your storefront is what visitors see when they visit your store.
As soon as you become a member you receive a My Addoway page. Inside My Addoway you will see all the tools needed to buy and/or sell. Go ahead and give it a test drive.
Make sure you are in the Seller Dashboard inside My Addoway. Click on Edit Profile and then click on links. Enter the full URL for each account, then hit save.
Make sure you are in the Seller Dashboard inside My Addoway. Click Post a Blog under Blog and that's it. It is important to provide content inside your profile. It helps increase confidence in you as a seller when shoppers can learn more about you through your blog and it adds more content that is searchable within Google to add more traffic to your store.
All you have to do is click on Link to Facebook inside My Addoway under Social Network Tools.
Make a Deal

This option allows buyers to make offers on negotiable or tradeable items if they want to get a better deal on the product/service. You can also trade items you are selling, for items you want to buy.
Just click the Make a Deal button and input your offer. If it's trade-able, you can actually drag and drop items you are selling into the box if want to exchange them as an offer. It is as simple as that.
The offer will then be located in your Offers Received box and all you have to do is convert it to an order and Pay.
With this option, you can make as many offers and counteroffers as possible until you both come to an agreement. If an agreement cannot be made, then the seller can decide to cancel the negotiation
Payment Gateways

You need a Google Merchant ID and Google Merchant Key, which can be obtained when you sign up for a Google Wallet account. Once you have this, you save this info to your Addoway account by going to Setup Google Wallet in your profile.
You need to first sign up for a PayPal account. Once you have done this, you save your PayPal email address to your Addoway account by going to Setup PayPal in your profile.
You will receive an email confirmation indicating your offer has been accepted.

Member Ratings/Reputation

On Addoway your member rating is your reputation on Addoway. You can import your feedback from eBay, Etsy and/or Bonanza and combine them with your Addoway feedback or you can start from scratch. Your rating is located in your profile.
We provide your rating as a seller, as a buyer, and then your other marketplace ratings. Your Addoway score takes into account all 3 of these different ratings. On Addoway you are rated on professionalism, promptness, communication, and courteousness.
Yes you can import your ratings from eBay, Etsy and/or Bonanza. With the eBay importer you will have the option to just import your feedback, but with Bonanza and/or Etsy your feedback will import when you import your listings.
It remains on your profile for as long as you are an active user.
The Klout Score is the measurement of your overall online influence. The scores range from 1 to 100 with higher scores representing a wider and stronger sphere of influence. Klout uses over 35 variables on Facebook and Twitter to measure True Reach, Amplification Probability, and Network Score.
Klout believes that influence is the ability to drive people to action -- "action" might be defined as a reply, a retweet, a comment, or a click. They perform significant testing to ensure that the average click-through rate on links shared is highly correlated with a person's Klout Score.
As a safer and more trustworthy alternative, Addoway has plans of introducing an index that will indicate the levels of risk associated with specific sellers before you decide to buy. One of the tools we will be using is Klout's score along with other variables we gather internally. Stay tuned for more.
Pro Membership

Pro Members get the ability to have more exposure throughout the site. They get their profile featured on the Addoway homepage as well as the option to choose which of their listings show up the homepage too. Their ads are bigger in their storefront, they get Google Analytics, monthly reporting, coupon creation and buyers can search manually inside their storefronts. It is just $8.95 a month or $75 a year. Addoway also donates 20% of the monthly fees to charities each month.
No, you do not need to be a Pro Member to be successful. Pro Members opt into the program because they want their stores and listings to standout and they also love the fact that we donate 20% of the monthly dues to charities each and every month.
AddoBucks

As a seller you can choose to accept AddoBucks from shoppers in turn for a discount off your listings. Please see http://www.addoway.com/myaddobucks for more information on the various ways you can earn AddoBucks.
The seller decides how the discount is calculated. A $100 item requires 100 AddoBucks to receive a discount and that % discount is deciced on by the seller. So for example, the seller can choose to offer 10% discounts through AddoBucks, so if an item is $25 and the shopper has 25 AddoBucks to use, they would receive 10% off the item.
Outside of discounts on items you want, you can select to enter weekly and monthly drawings as well as exchange your AddoBucks for great prizes. Then please send us a request through our support ticketing system to let us know what prize you would like to exchange your Addobucks for. Please include the total Addobucks needed in exchange along with your full contact information.
eBay Importer

Just click on the eBay importer which is located in the Seller Dashboard under Importers. Enter your username and then decide if you want to select all listings or manually choose them. You can then use the edit tool to adjust your listings all at once.
Check to ensure they are not duplicate ads.
Unfortunately, when choosing to do an import all of your listings will be imported over. You then can go through and deactivate or delete specific ones you don't want to list on Addoway. You also have the option of using the "bulk editor," which is located in My Ads to edit multiple listings at once.

Every time you perform an import and you click the Sync option, Addoway will automatically deactivate any listings on Addoway that have sold on eBay already. You have to perform an import every time you want to use the Sync as this process is manual right now.
Bonanza & Etsy Importers

Click on either the Bonanza or Etsy Importer and then enter your username. A code is then generated for you that you have to copy and insert as a tag into just one of your Bonanza or Etsy listing descriptions and then save. Once you do that, return back to the importer page and click Verify My Bonanza or Etsy account. Once you verify you will never have to verify it again. Once verified you will receive an email to return and import your listings. The process after this is the same as the eBay importer.

The majority of our importers were created based on user request. It all begins with a anonymous user inquiring about importing items over to Addoway. We take the initial request and begin logging all of them. Once we notice a trend and the requests elevate we then take action and create an importer for the marketplace.

It's also important to reduce the amount of time you need in order to try something new. How time consuming would it be for you to have to recreate 1000 new listings all over again? It doesn't make sense at all.
