As 2013 was coming to a close, I started re-reading Seth Godin’s ''Tribes'' weeks ago and I immediately remembered back years ago to when we launched Addoway and began building our ''Addoway tribe.'' Oh what a feeling it was starting something from nothing. The rush was incredible and every day there was something new challenging us that always kept things interesting. As those years have come and gone we have gained and lost members of the tribe. This blog post is dedicated to everyone who came and stayed all these years and you know what, it is even for those who decided to leave.

Hello Addoway users,
We wanted to remind you, if you didn't know already that Google is shutting down their Checkout product on November 20th, so with this news Google Checkout will be retired as a payment option on November 20th on Addoway as well.
If you are currently offering it as a payment option in your store, you should have received an email reminder of the change from our support team. We encourage those users who are offering it, to setup a PayPal account and that as an option if you haven't done so already, as that will be the only electronic payment method available on Addoway for the time being. You can add new payment options by clicking on Seller Settings/Payment Methods within My Addoway.

Years ago we initially decided to write a blog post about effectively growing your business brand online. The main principle of it all was following the old motto "Keeping It Simple Stupid" (KISS), because we all tend to over complicate what we do and in the end all we end up doing is just spinning our wheels. Whenever I begin a new project or try to conquer something long overdue, I make it an effort to always remember to keep it simple and I encourage you to do the same. Complicated is just not cool!
The great thing about the internet is that you can find a new client every single day in a totally brand new place that you didn't use yesterday or you just discovered today.
We also understand the process might seem daunting or you might even think you just have to get out there and start selling, but it’s not like... Read More
The holiday season is upon us. Some will actually say that the holiday season already started back in August. Without going into a shouting match on who is right and who is wrong, let's just agree to disagree and say, "It's Time!" It's time to start checking inventory, getting your email lists ready and organized, checking your listings images and even prioritizing your tasks as we inch closer. I will go as far as to say that the latter is the most important. It's important to make sure you are ready for the rush.
How many marketplaces are you on this year? One? Two? Four??? Have you added more or scaled back your efforts from last year? Are you on niche marketplaces or broad ones like Addoway, eBay and Amazon? The answer is: It doesn't matter right now.
We want to sell and we want to sell a lot during the holidays. It is not just... Read More
Selling is an art. There is no better way to describe it.
Many people can and will do it, but not everyone can stick to it and make it a full time hobby. Many will try it and give up and then come back years later not sure why they gave up in the first place and then quickly realize why they did. But then there are the others...the others like you who will pick it up and get addicted and look everywhere to learn more and more. You will think about the market, think about your savings, think about your short term and long term goals and jump right in. Jump right in with arms wide open and say, "Let's do this. It seems like so much fun."

We talk about blogging quite often on Addoway (AddoBlogging) and we already know you spend a lot of time putting those posts together, so we wanted to put some tips together some tips on how you can get the most out of your blog - increasing the chances of that visitor finding you. And when we say "visitor" we are definitely talking about those shoppers.
Here are 8 useful tips to be a better blogger:
Make sure your title matches: People click on links to blogs and decide to read them on title alone. You can have the greatest content in the world, but without a great title no one will find it. There is no denying it. We are not drawn to the first page or the first paragraph. It is the title of the story that grabs our attention. Now this doesn’t meant that you have to just have a great title, because you... Read More
Have you ever taken the time to sit down and think about the ideal customer of yours? To come to think of it, I am not sure when the last time I thought about who our ideal customer is since we have so many different types we try to market to. Is this bad? Could it be bad? Hmmmm!
If you are having trouble identifying your exact target customer the first thing you should do is think about the niche you are in. What is the product line you sell the most of? Is it a complex product for a complex buyer? If this is the case, then you have a niche, but you have to dig deeper. If you sell clothing for women, then you have a niche as well, but a niche you can even target closer by getting specific about the type of clothing or the age range.
These are just examples of questions you can ask yourself as you jot down your... Read More
I will ask it again. Have you spent the time checking out your store as another buyer?
Seriously, have you taken the time to make sure you are totally logged out of Addoway and then just visited your store to see how it looks? If so, what did you think? Did you like the way it looked? Would you change something? Is your banner picture blurry? Do you like the listings that come up first in your store?
More importantly, did you try making a purchase to see if everything is setup correctly and that you got taken directly to PayPal or Google Wallet to finalize the payment?
The reason we ask this is because we are finding more and more scenarios where a sellers listings are not setup correctly and their shipping calculator has expired. Buyers are trying to make purchases, but they get error messages that shipping options... Read More
