Two weeks ago I posted a blog about my new beginnings for the New Year. I was really hoping that by now I could come back here and tell you all that I have passed the next hurdle - but unfortunately, here I am in "waiting" mode. Waiting for others to take actions so that I can. Waiting is definitely not one of my strong points, and I am climbing the walls just waiting.
But I think that I can tell you by now some more about what I am going to be doing. Just no particulars yet... sorry. This is something that I have thought about and dreamed about for years - but never took any action on. Let me tell you about it. I've always had a 'thing' for houses - buying, fixing them up, making them special. I've always had an eye for looking at a space, and being able to see it as it could be - not necessarily as it is. I've bought 2 different homes, fixed them up for myself and then resold them, always at a better price. I've watched shows on TV about "flippers" --- and I've always yearned to do it myself! I worked in Hotel Management for about 20 years, and I had a wonderful Mentor who taught me about maintaining a property - I learned from her how to walk into a space, and know at a glance what needs to be fixed, and what is good to stay. I also learned alot about design.... more than I learned from the 2 year Interior Design course I took. For the past couple of years, I've become an HGTV and DIY network addict. My brother made fun of my for always watching all those "stupid" shows..... but he watches Dancing with the Stars..... and he hasn't learned to dance - I've at least learned alot about construction, renovations, and design..... I am so ready for this!! Well, if you haven't guessed by now.... I am about to embark on my career as a FLIPPER. I have a partner in my new company, LUNA C LLC who trusts me and believes that I can make money for us both..... and for our first project, I am partnering with another small businessman -- who just happens to be a contractor himself. Everybody says the Housing Market is insane.... everybody tells me that there isn't money to be made in House Flipping -- certainly not in this crazy Las Vegas market! But yet, I know that everybody is watching with great interest, to see what I can do.... and I am certain that some of them are going to be asking to invest with me in a very short time - you just wait and see! I've learned long ago, never to listen to what other people say - and to go with my heart. Hopefully by next week, I will be able to post pictures of my first project, and let you all know the very last piece of the puzzle that makes me so certain that this is going to work out. I have been dreaming about it for too long for it not to!! Reader Comments (7)
