It's that time of the year again when everyone is getting ready to buy everything or plan to buy everything they can before it gets crazy. I personally prefer the craziness that comes along with the holiday seasons. I love watching people going back and forth shopping throughout the malls talking about shopping online too to save time, so they don’t have to visit every store or sit outside for days. This year is not going to be different from last – I am shopping online and I am sure many of you do too. Why? Well for obvious reasons it’s the fastest and most comforting of shopping methods, but because you can easily compare prices across sites and go with what you think is the best method for you.

The holiday season is upon us. Some will actually say that the holiday season already started back in August. Without going into a shouting match on who is right and who is wrong, let's just agree to disagree and say, "It's Time!" It's time to start checking inventory, getting your email lists ready and organized, checking your listings images and even prioritizing your tasks as we inch closer. I will go as far as to say that the latter is the most important. It's important to make sure you are ready for the rush.
How many marketplaces are you on this year? One? Two? Four??? Have you added more or scaled back your efforts from last year? Are you on niche marketplaces or broad ones like Addoway, eBay and Amazon? The answer is: It doesn't matter right now.
We want to sell and we want to sell a lot during the holidays. It is not just... Read More
Selling is an art. There is no better way to describe it.
Many people can and will do it, but not everyone can stick to it and make it a full time hobby. Many will try it and give up and then come back years later not sure why they gave up in the first place and then quickly realize why they did. But then there are the others...the others like you who will pick it up and get addicted and look everywhere to learn more and more. You will think about the market, think about your savings, think about your short term and long term goals and jump right in. Jump right in with arms wide open and say, "Let's do this. It seems like so much fun."

Have you ever taken the time to sit down and think about the ideal customer of yours? To come to think of it, I am not sure when the last time I thought about who our ideal customer is since we have so many different types we try to market to. Is this bad? Could it be bad? Hmmmm!
If you are having trouble identifying your exact target customer the first thing you should do is think about the niche you are in. What is the product line you sell the most of? Is it a complex product for a complex buyer? If this is the case, then you have a niche, but you have to dig deeper. If you sell clothing for women, then you have a niche as well, but a niche you can even target closer by getting specific about the type of clothing or the age range.
These are just examples of questions you can ask yourself as you jot down your... Read More
I will ask it again. Have you spent the time checking out your store as another buyer?
Seriously, have you taken the time to make sure you are totally logged out of Addoway and then just visited your store to see how it looks? If so, what did you think? Did you like the way it looked? Would you change something? Is your banner picture blurry? Do you like the listings that come up first in your store?
More importantly, did you try making a purchase to see if everything is setup correctly and that you got taken directly to PayPal or Google Wallet to finalize the payment?
The reason we ask this is because we are finding more and more scenarios where a sellers listings are not setup correctly and their shipping calculator has expired. Buyers are trying to make purchases, but they get error messages that shipping... Read More
Do you remember the first time you felt that addiction to sell something online?
How about making that first purchase from a wholesaler or maybe that incredible find at a yard sale in your neighborhood?
Maybe it was making your first sale and realizing the profit from just a little investment of your time? Or making that first purchase on a marketplace and then turning around and selling it again for a profit?
Oh the memories!!!
The reason I bring it up is because we usually have gotten into this industry because something grabbed us and that “something” is usually an addiction to “the find.” Telling your friends, “this is just too good to be true. Look what I found. I am going to sell this on eBay and make some money.” Just take a look at the image below and tell me the truth. ... Read More
Speaking with online sellers on a regular basis helps us gather data that provids us the ability to analyze trends, similarities, and differences and then use this information to make some decent assumptions about what works and what doesn't. Our goal is to be able to then share this with you to help you make better decisions on what you are planning to do in the new year; whether that means adding to; eliminating from, complimenting, or continuing what you are doing today. Some things continue to stay the same year after year while others change. Let us know what you think and what you agree with in the comment section below.

Black Friday is not an official holiday, but many non-retail employers also observe this day as a holiday along with Thanksgiving, giving their employees the day off, thereby increasing the number of potential shoppers, but there are many companies who do not do this, so we line up outside the night before hoping to be one of the first in these stores, just so we can get that cool offer.
