Social Media Explained
Social media explained was a portion of our David & Goliath presentation that our Pro Members have access to inside of Addoway University, but I wanted to spend some time helping define social media a little here in this context, as well as explaining all of the different social networking portals that are out there and what you should think about when using them. ![]()
Your next question could be, "Well couldn't I talk about what I just ate on Twitter and where I ate?" Well of course you can, but Twitter is primarily used as a What's going on right now network, while Facebook is used more as a What I just did and I want the world to know, because conversations on Facebook tend to be more personal. Think about this example when you are trying to decide where to spend your time and what you should spend your time doing in each of the above places.
So if you replaced Selling in the above example, you would get something like this: Twitter - I need to sell or I am selling Facebook - I am selling or I just sold Foursquare - This is where I sell Quora - Why am I selling? How do I sell? LinkedIn - I am pretty good at selling Google + - Let's all sell together or This is what I am selling! Now some of these can mix and match and you might do some at Facebook and Twitter, but not Google Plus, so please let us know what you think and we hope it helps as you continue to embrace social media as a business asset.
