Random Thoughts

Today I feel a great need to just write, to talk about all that has happened with Adamma's Notions and in my personal life in the past weeks.

First and foremost I want to thank all my Addoway friends for your support and assistance. You guys are great and I am very grateful to have you in my business life as well as my personal life.

Adamma's Notions saw records sales in the past two weeks from Addoway as well as from Adamma's Notions store. I was stunned by the amount of visits Adamma's Notions received. My mind was deliriously happy with all the orders I was getting.
My dream was unfolding one order at a time it, felt great.

Today I will ship the last of the orders that I received during this week. I am very excited to see what 2011 will bring for Adamma's Notions.

Giving Thanks

November 2nd 2010

November's holiday is called Thanksgiving. Giving thanks for what we currently have.

I give thanks everyday for all the good and bad in my life. The good comes as blessings and the bad as lessons that need to be learned from.

I am the type of individual that I like helping others; if you need inventory I will send some of mine at no cost. If you need a warm meal I am there for you. If I only have a dollar in my pocket and you need it, best believe I will give it to you without asking any questions.

Recently I've found myself waking up from a long emotional coma. I love my life and whatever the day brings. Like I mention before, some days are good others bad but with the help of my Higher Power, I get it all done.

Leticia Segura is a mother, grand-mother, wife, entrepreneur, motivational speaker and a student of life.

Her professional experience includes work with a Homeless Shelter as a paid Volunteer Coordinator, a Production Artist for a small Community Bilingual Newspaper, a Customer Service Manager for a Manufacturing facility in Chicago, an Account Specialist (temporary basis) for Pepsico, and an Office Manager for a Maintenance company, currently she founded and operates Adamma's Notions.

Adamma's Notions Humble Beginning

The Beginning of Adamma’s Notions

After 10+ years out of school I decided to go back. I started a bachelor’s degree at the age of 29. When I first started classes I only wanted to take an English course to help me improve my writing and thinking skills. After I was done with English Composition 101 I was hooked. I decided to stay in school. My track of attending evening school full-time in the evening and working a full-time job during the day started. I had this schedule for almost three years.

Going back to school felt liberating; I was on the path to improving myself and investing for my future. During the last semester of my bachelor’s degree, I took a course on web development. Our professor told us that we were going to learn to build a website, nothing complex something very easy to follow.

My 17 year old Niece Doesn't Get It and I Do.

As I am sitting in my office one awesome evening, my niece walked in (I have an open door policy here) to ask me a question. She saw that I had Tweet Deck opened and ask me "are you about to twitter" I say "yes", she says "I don't get it" I said "what do you mean you do not get it?"

I came to find out that my niece does not like twitter because she cannot understand it. I asked her what she did not understand about twitter; she said does not comprehend the "hash tags #" "#follow" or any other lingo that is spoken amongst twitterville. I told her now she knows how I feel when I walk into a Starbucks. All I want is a regular coffee with whole milk and sugar. At Starbucks coffee shop these people a whole different language.
