Springtime and Summertine kicks in the beauty of nature. Planting plants and flowers is awesome therapy. Nature reminds us that life goes on. Despite elements, despite trauma, despite most everything, nature continues to survive and amaze daily.
Last week I shared some photos of the sidewalk walkway and flower bed I have been working on. Again, this is awesome therapy. One can plant flowers, vegetables and seasonings in the most creative ways. It does not require a large outdoor area to enjoy nature and all it has to offer.
Watching flowers grow from seeds or seedlings to beautiful unique amazement is something everyone should experience in life. If you are limited in resources and/or space there are numerous options available to enjoy nature. Hmmmmm sounds like a great idea for my next week blog!
This week, I will introduce you to one of... Read More
It's that time of year when we all start to think about and work on planting flowers, trees, vegetable gardens and work in the yard. So that we can spend relaxing fun time chilling out in the yard doing everything from playing catch to lounging with a good book. This is one of the various types of stinging catapillars that are coming into season. Anywhere that your skin touches it, blisters appear. It can be one small 2 inch section meaning you made a single fast contact with the critter and swatted it off. Or it can be worse where the critter rolls down your arm and gets you from elbow to wrist like it did to me today. First it hurts REALLY bad and the pain is much. Then the blisters appear. It is important to grab a benedryl, alcohol the area to clean then coat it with aloe vera gel to help sooth the burning pain. Now this is a... Read More
What is cowboy apparel? Well, it's not just for cowboys. There are numerous organizations ( S.A.S.S., C.A.S, P.O.E.T. etc) whos members enjoy partaking in reenactment events. Dressing in clothing items from the era, using items from the era, living life like in the era, sharing and teaching others the way things were back when. First, any good cowboy requires a good pair of boots. Again, not just cowboys, boots have been popular footwear during Equestrian, Edwardian, Victorian, Civil War eras and more.
Surely everyone knows of John Wayne. Iconic example of the cowboy and attire from the eras. Cowboy hats served multiple purpose. Protection from weather and elements, sun, dust, wind, rain. Many hours were spent on foot and on horses. The hat was in essence, their protective roof.

Frogs...... just one of GOD's amazing creations. Fully Rely On God. F-R-O-G.

Such a simple sweet creature that is a reminder to many. I used to have crosses and frogs decorating my office in the house that we lost to a fire. I even had a HUGE stuffed frog at perched around in various places in my office. He was my assistant.

When we located a house for rent and started moving in a friend came over and handed me 2 little frogs. He said his 2 year old stopped him as he was leaving the house and told him to take these frogs to me, that I needed them. So, he brought them.

This little 2 year old child was sending a message. There are angels all around us if we only pay attention and notice. I have not met this little angel yet but I will. I have seen photos. :).
I clutched onto those two little stuffed animals and toted them around... Read More
We have been working hard to return normality to our lives despite the events. I am thrilled to say we are doing okay. Taking life one day at a time. Part of healing and recovering is being able to continue.
I am often asked how are we maintaining such a positive outlook and attitude after such a tragedy. My response is always the same. How else are we supposed to handle it? By the Grace of God, we are alive, not one firefighter of the 4 fire departments that responded were injured, no human lives lost. It is as it is. It does no good to dwell on the negative at all. For that simply prolongs the healing process and holds one back. Never ever will I tell anyone it is easy. But it is possible.

Lord Jesus when I thought I had not enough strength to endure, you showed me I was mistaken by showing my trama that I dealt with and remained strong through. When I thought my faith might not be as strong as it should be, you showed me my faith was taller than the tallest mountain, deeper than the deepest sea and wider than the skies. When I continued down the path on the journey in life i wondered if I was hearing you correctly and moving forward where I was supposed to be going, you showed me that small candle burning so i knew to keep going. I know that i have faced so much in my lifetime and i have not always maintained being strong enough for my comfort but I have been shown that i was and am a strong person and stronger when I must be, it is inside if I reach for it and hold on t...... This time of the year we all think of what we are thankful of. Truthfully, we think of it 24/7/365 here at Wild Rags Place. I could have written todays blog on a number of topics, but today is my birthday so I chose to write this positive informative sharing blog. My gift from GOD, my gift to you, sharing a positive reminder.
The kids and I were blessed to have attended church this past Sunday and the service was beyond touching and amazing.
What was the main reminder? THANK GOD FOR EVERYTHING, including the bad. Be thankful, grateful and faithful.

1 Thessalonians 5:18
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
I have written a blog here telling a little about the history behind WILD RAGS PLACE. I recently ran across one of the newspaper articles we were featured in and thought it would be cool to share.

I have always told my own children and my other "second Mama to Children" that no matter what, their dreams, their desires, their goals, as long as they were legal, I would support and assist them. I try to be supportive, encouraging, a positive mentor. For many of these young people, our circle of support and encouragement is the majority they hear in their world.
This week's blog from Wild Rags Place is about some amazing young people we are BLESSED to know and have in our lives. It seems people forget how much those hugs, kind words, making sure the young adults know they CAN reach for those stars and grab them, letting them know they can do anything they set their minds to do, just how much those words of encouragement mean to these kids and how much they are needed to be heard and seen. My family at ... Read More
