Rent or Buy How To Get The Answers and Make The Right Decision

How does one decide between renting and buying?  Through careful study, economics and financial planning of a budget.  Sometimes the answer is simple and easy if only the questions were asked properly.

What is your budget for housing monthly?  Creating a budget is not difficult.  It starts with a pen and a piece of paper.  Make a list of basic needs and expenses.  This would be utilities, groceries, clothing, fuel for vehicle, bus fare, etc.  For a month, keep track of the expenses in each of those primary categories.  Adding the totals at the end of the month will give you an approximate amount it takes per month to live.  This is also a great opportunity to go over your spending habits and notice if something can be trimmed down a bit.

Out of the ashes comes a new beginning

I look as a human at "Folse Family Fire" and see three F's.  But those F's have nothing to do with failure.  They represent every POSITIVE word in the dictionary beginning in with the letter "F".

Give yourself Five: Sanity time outs

Sidestep letting strong feelings get the best of you by remembering to "give yourself five" when you're steaming. What's great about this little mantra is that it can take so many different forms:

1. You could take five (literal) steps back from the situation if the person with dementia has become belligerent.

2. Count to five before you answer if you're stuck in a cycle of repeated questions or comments.

3. Take five whole minutes to yourself (set a timer!) if you're just worn out. While you chill, put on a surefire calming television program or hand the person with dementia a favorite snack and leave the room (if you're sure he or she will be safe).

4. When you can't escape physically, imagine five nice things you'd do for yourself...  Read More

Jesus Gives Strength God is Awesome

Lord Jesus when I thought I had not enough strength to endure, you showed me I was mistaken by showing my trama that I dealt with and remained strong through. When I thought my faith might not be as strong as it should be, you showed me my faith was taller than the tallest mountain, deeper than the deepest sea and wider than the skies. When I continued down the path on the journey in life i wondered if I was hearing you correctly and moving forward where I was supposed to be going, you showed me that small candle burning so i knew to keep going. I know that i have faced so much in my lifetime and i have not always maintained being strong enough for my comfort but I have been shown that i was and am a strong person and stronger when I must be, it is inside if I reach for it and hold on t......  Read More

It Is As It Is Part One

As I am sure most know by now, we lost our home and business in a fire on Christmas afternoon 2011.  I would like to begin sharing thoughts, positive dreams and motivation with you all in a series of blogs as I get them typed.

I am often told that I am a very positive person.  Both in attitude,  actions and life all around.  Throughout each tragedy, I remind myself that if one looks at each negative situation, there IS a positive to be found.  Focusing on the positive and keeping the negative away from your mind and heart can help anyone get through anything that jumps into our path in the journey of life.

Not saying it is easy, anything worth anything takes work and will power.  I would like to help others see how I/we deal with things in hopes that reading of our lives will give others strength and encouragement.

Stuck Like Glue

Being a homeowner is not always thrills and fun.  You are the sole person responsible for maintenance and repairs.  Being a homeowner while also being a single parent adds to the adventure.

When your kiddo flushes the rubber Mr. Bubbles bath toy down the toilet to watch him dance, you do not call the landlord or property maintenance man, you call your ex and beg him to come help you LIFT and pull the toilet and rescue Mr. Bubbles.  King of the throne, HA!  Apparently Mr. Bubbles does not like that title and lingers half way holding on for dear life, making the throne powerless and useless, until he is removed from the plumbing path.

Digging up and replacing the old damaged sewer line was not a happy play date for kiddos.  They quickly stopped liking playing in the mud for fun.  You take over all of the job after the pipe is located. ...  Read More

Remember to Say Thank You

This time of the year we all think of what we are thankful of.  Truthfully, we think of it 24/7/365 here at Wild Rags Place.  I could have written todays blog on a number of topics, but today is my birthday so I chose to write this positive informative sharing blog.  My gift from GOD, my gift to you, sharing a positive reminder.

The kids and I were blessed to have the means and gas to attend church this past Sunday and the service was beyond touching and amazing.  You see, this church required a 25 mile drive to get to and we do not always have gas to go further than 7 miles to the closest church from our home.

What was the main reminder?  THANK GOD FOR EVERYTHING, including the bad.  Be thankful, grateful and faithful.

  1. 1 Thessalonians 5:18
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning...  Read More

ITS NEVER TOO EARLY

elderly_hands_small_4k1i.jpg
Give your family the best gift ever this holiday season.  Peace of mind for you and yours.  We all think we will live forever.  We think family will do our wishes in the event we become ill or pass away.  That well known statement "It'll never happen to me" is false folks.  It can happen and it does happen and it is a lot left on those responsible family members (who do as you wished and listened to your desires) left to battle with the other family members (who are greedy, self centered, non caring, too busy, etc) to make sure that YOUR desires and wishes are done as YOU want/wanted.  So many people put these matters off thinking they have time.  There is always time.  Well, the time is NOW.  If the thought of what will happen, what should be done, what YOU want to be done... crosses your mind.....listen to it.

Jot down in a notebook your...  Read More
