I have been selling online for the past 12 years. I normally sell glassware, but I wanted to do something a little different with this store. I will be offering many different items including glassware, linens, framed prints, pottery, etc. I love the "Shabby, Romantic Country" look, mixing pastels, florals and stripes, with old and new pieces. White painted furniture, lace and old doilies. This is what you will find in The Shabby Boutique!

Make Customer Service Your Priority!

Being on so many social networks, I hear alot of talk & complaints about customers who are unreasonable, demanding, lying, scamming....yada yada yada....but sellers....stop and put yourself in the place of the buyer.  Yes, there are scammers and difficult people out there, no doubt about it.  When I worked in Customer Service for a mail order catalog, I was positive that I must have talked to every one of them in the United States and a few overseas!!! :-)  But, really, people are mostly good, and just want to be treated like they matter, that their purchase is important to you and that you want them to be satisfied with their purchase.

My Holiday Tree

Last Christmas, I had to buy a new Christmas tree, as the old one had seen better days and was sent off to the thrift store.  The old tree was 6 1/2' tall, so I went to my trusty Wally-world (Walmart) to see if I could get one at a low price!!  When I looked at the 6 1/2' trees, they looked so short and skimpy......maybe mine was taller??  So, I bought the 7 1/2' tree in that little skinny box they come in.

When I got the tree home, and opened it....I pulled out all of the branches and began sorting them by color.  Each branch had to be unfolded and formed to look right before it could be put into it's proper slot.  Four days later....I was able to start adding lights and decorations!!!  This thing reached my ceiling!!!  It was huge!!!

Christmas came and went, and New Year's Day was upon us.  Normally, I take down my tree that day, and store it away in the box until...  Read More

Turn your backyard into a natural bird feeder.

I woke up this morning to a backyard full of birds!!  There were a pair of cardinals, blue jays, robins, woodpeckers, yellow finches, snowbirds and sparrows, all in the tree off of my deck!  It is a cool, fall like morning....perfect for the birds, who seemed to have disappeared during the summer heat wave. And now the birds were back in full force, feeding from my plants, and singing their songs.
