Customer is King
It's no secret that working with the public in any venue is rewarding and challenging. The old adage
"Customer Service is King" is more important than ever. As a buyer, you know this and want to find someone who gives you what you need.
Through the years, I've served bankers, bakers, Kings and Queens, well almost, - military and civilian dignitaries at least, the guy and the girl next door. Servicing the private sector and the Department of Defense taught me that Customer Service is Customer Service and it's King. Through the years, I've served bankers, bakers, Kings and Queens, well almost, - military and civilian dignitaries at least, the guy and the girl next door. Servicing the private sector and the Department of Defense taught me that Customer Service is Customer Service and it's King. It's what drives nations to negotiate, neighbors to mend fences and enemies to unite. Love thy neighbor as thyself, very simple.
It takes a special personality and quality training to achieve a sense of style when applying Customer Service skills. It's not always easy, but definitely rewarding. I'm inspired to write tonight because I finished watching a video from Fred on Addoway. As you are reading this, your mind might be wandering to retail establishments these days and wondering what is their Customer Service policy. It is very commonplace to not experience any real service in some brick and mortar stores these days. Why, because of lack of training, that is all. The clerks and employees do not know any better because they are not trained. Which brings us to the topic of ethics in business, but that's a discussion for another blog.
This got me to thinking about transparency and trust. Think about it, when you want someone to service your electrical, plumbing, heating needs, to whom do you turn? Chances are you use an electrician, plumber that your family has used for years, or friends might have referred. Why? Makes sense that you use someone you trust. Isn't it the same concept when you shop at a local store, get the holiday foods, the Easter ham? Do you tend to use the same trusted merchants? If you are from a small town this is easy with a natural network of connections. Back in the day before families were scattered and before the internet, that was the social networking of the day. Mom and Pop stores, gives many of us some nostalgic and Norman Rockwell feelings of trust. Hope you enjoy your shopping on Addoway. Vaya con Dios.
You want to see sales soar and all will be blissful. What is wrong
when sales do not magically adorn the Profit & Loss? Does the enchanted
forest begin to appear frightening? It should not be scary at all, but caution should be sensible enough to plan ahead with a well-exercised mind. Try to keep the horse in front of the cart.
Is it enough to create product flyers, brochures and fancy labels, a
most fascinating website? Or maybe one is thinking, we will tweet, use fb and other social media to bring customers to buy your product! It might not work as simple as following a yellow brick road to a kingdom of rapid, consistent, and high value sales.
Take a step back for just a bit. Breathe a little.
Think about when you were in a classroom. There were lesson plans and tests and ... Read More
How many times do you hear a man say "I just don't understand women".
Or "What do women want?" Well, there are times when we simply do not
know how to navigate that simple question. It can be said, that women also
wonder what men want? To be sure, human nature is amazing and complex.
