Me and my MoparOctober 26th 2011
It amazes me that so many kids today are driving their own cars now when they are 16 and 17. Yes, I learned to drive when I was a teenager and had my license at 17, but I didn't get my own car in my own name until I was 32 years old and yes, I know that times have changed. My Daddy almost always had Chrysler products when I was growing up and my husband and I navigated to them after our first Ford. My first car was a 1970 Plymouth Gold Duster and I loved that car. I would wash it, wax it and just love it. I drove it for several years until my oldest son (who has numerous Mopars) told me about a 1970 Plum Crazy colored Dodge Charger with a 383 Magnum engine for sale. Naturally when I went to see it, I had to have it so I sold my beloved Duster to my son and bought the Charger. I didn't think that I could love a car more than I loved my Duster, but I did. Several weeks ago I started having pain behind my left eye and every now and then it looked like a cloud would come over the eye and I had a weird feeling that the eye didn't belong there. I went to see my Opthalmologist and after looking and looking, he said that he thought it was caused by my thyroid and he prescribed steroid eye drops for two weeks. It helped until they were all gone, then the pain came back and he put me on oral steroids for two weeks. Again it helped but the pain came back when I finished the steroids. Next step was an MRI which I got on October 14. My Opthalmologist informed me on the 17th that I had a mass the size of a grape behind the left eye and asked if I had ever had cancer. Yes, I have and then he started talking about tumors and such. He stated that I would need to see a Neurologist and probably a NeuroSurgeon. He... Read More I Love Mums!October 12th 2011
I have always loved mums, doesn't matter what color they are, I love them. I never even thought about each month having a flower until someone told me several years ago that the one for November (my birth month) is Chrysanthemum or Mum as most of us call them, Chrysanthemum is from the Greek meaning "Golden Flower' and they truly are. The meaning of the November Birth Flower, the Chrysanthemum is With Love and Cheerfulness The House from HadesOctober 5th 2011
We lived in our house for over 30 years, then moved 'out into the country'. My oldest son, my husband and I would go in on the weekends (75 miles one way) and work on this house. We put in new plumbing, re-wired the entire house, put down parquet and wood floors as well as new tile in the kitchen, breakfast room and huge pantry. We painted all the walls, put in new bathtub/showers and commodes in the bathrooms, put in a new sink in one bathroom and new cabinets in both. All the kitchen cabinets were cleaned and painted, we installed a new electric oven and a gas stove top. We put down carpet tile in the attic room, it is huge, goes the length of the house and there is actually two rooms. My oldest son lived up there for years. |
